CALGARY HERALD: What does doing business not as usual mean to you?

Capital Ideas members were asked how their business is different. Here’s what members of our community of Calgary business owners helping business owners had to say:

“Social media and Google have created a world that watches every move we make, especially in business. As a result, the consumer has come to expect much more from brands. Businesses today have to live to a higher ethical standard in the way they treat people and the environment if they expect to survive. In our business, we’ve put social causes as our main driver alongside profit to create a social enterprise with a triple bottom line. Even within the non-profit sector, organizations are being forced to find new more sustainable revenue models. Social enterprises are becoming the new normal but for now it is still business not as usual.”
